Setup and maintain Unix (FreeBSD) web servers running Apache, each with multiple virtual sites ( Mechanical Engineering Department MEnet Nanoigert Aerospace Enginnering and Mechanics Department Multiscale ) Setup and maintain Unix (FreeBSD) mail servers running Sendmail, IMAP-UW, Qpopper, web mail, and related services for me.umn.edu and aem.umn.edu. Setup and maintain UNIX workstations, primarily Solaris, but also IRIX and Linux. Support a site with approx 800 users and approx 200 workstations.
Responsible for IBM MVS JES2 system maintenance and general operating system support. Installed and tested an upgrade to OS/390 Release 1.3 using a ServerPac methodology. Performed I/O subsystem generations using HCD. Responsible for system performance management using Realtime and CMF. Performed minimal VTAM and CICS backup support. Member of a disaster recovery team with main responsibility for bringing up the MVS production system at a hot site. Worked with management, applications, and operations staff to resolve system problems and establish work direction.
